These general terms and conditions (GTC) apply to all participants in the Archiv International educational project. By registering, participants accept these conditions. The contract languages are English and German.
subject matter of the contract
The educational project includes various digital archiving measures, including classroom teaching, online courses, workshops and excursions. The exact process and content will be announced at the start of the measure.
Registration and Participation
Registration for the courses takes place online via the registration formParticipants are obliged to check the entry requirements and ensure that they meet them. There is no entitlement to participate.
right of withdrawal
Participants have the right to withdraw from participation up to 14 days after registration without giving reasons. The right of withdrawal expires once the course has started. The withdrawal must be made in writing.
Fees and Payment Terms
Fees are due 14 days before the start of the course. For longer courses, installment payments on a module basis are possible. In the event of late payment, participants may be excluded from participation without the obligation to pay being cancelled.
The course costs 3000€ per participant for the entire course duration.
Broken down into the individual modules, participation in one module costs €500 for a period of 2 months. If you only want to take part in individual modules, you must prove to us that you have the necessary previous training to participate.
If you only want to participate in individual modules, please note that there is a one-time organizational setup fee of 250€.
changes to the course content
The educational project reserves the right to make changes to the course content if necessary. Significant changes will be communicated to participants in writing, who will then have the right to withdraw from the contract.
Duties of the Participants
Participants undertake to attend regularly and to observe the ethical and respectful communication rules as well as the instructions of the teaching staff. Repeated violations of these obligations may result in exclusion from classes.
copyrights and usage rights
The materials provided are protected by copyright and may only be used for teaching purposes. Reproduction or distribution to third parties is not permitted.
As far as possible within the educational project, teaching materials will be provided under the Creative Commons published and marked accordingly.
In this sense, Archiv International would like to contribute to the provision of Open Educational Resources in the international context of archival education.
final provisions
Should individual provisions of these terms and conditions be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected. Changes to these terms and conditions must be made in writing. These general terms and conditions come into force upon publication on our website and apply to all future registrations and measures of the Archiv International educational project.

How often does online teaching take place?
We meet once a week. These meetings always take place on the same day of the week and at the same time. This is to ensure that participants can plan their meetings well.
Is this course doable alongside work?
To this we can answer very clearly with “YES!”
With 2 hours of online time per week and self-study time, the course will not require more than 8 to 10 hours of participants' time per week.
During the self-study periods, the knowledge imparted in the online seminar is tested and applied.
What does it cost to participate?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer participation free of charge. There is currently no institution in Germany or internationally that supports such an educational program.

With this fee we cover lecturers' fees, single-user licenses for necessary software, server costs, technical and organizational administration costs and the purchase and delivery of equipment.
